Box Score LA PLUME, Pa. – Haybert Louchie scored a career-high 27 points for the Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team in a 96-81 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) loss to Keystone Saturday afternoon in the Gambal Athletic Center.
Louchie—who recorded his third 20+-point game of the season—broke his previous career-high of 21 points which came in a win over Valley Forge on Jan. 4. In Saturday's game, Louchie shot 10-of-21 from the field, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range, and 5-of-8 from the free-throw line in 37 minutes of action. He also grabbed six rebounds and added three assists.
Tariq Moore was strong in defeat as well, notching his third double-double of the year. Moore broke the 20-point barrier for the seventh time this season with 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting and added 10 rebounds and four assists.
Okoye Taylor contributed 14 points, while Kiaeem Comegys blocked six shots.
Bryn Athyn (3-17, 2-7 CSAC) took its only lead of the afternoon when Moore went 1-for-2 from the line 33 seconds into the game. After Keystone (9-12, 5-5 CSAC) moved ahead 6-1, Bryn Athyn answered back with seven of the next nine points to tie the score at eight four minutes into the game.
Over the next seven minutes, Keystone outscored Bryn Athyn 21-10 to open up a 29-18 advantage. With the gap sitting at 36-23, the Lions—led by five points from Louchie and four from Moore—closed out the final 6:40 of the half on an 18-8 run to close the gap to 44-41 at the break.
Keystone started the second half with 12 of the first 14 points to increase its lead to 56-43. Baskets by Louchie and Taylor would bring the Lions within 56-49 with 15:06 left. It was the final time that the margin would be single digits.
Tone Cockrell paced Keystone with 21 points, seven assists, six rebounds, and three steals. Jeremy Jordan had 20 points.
The Giants shot 48.5 percent (32-of-66) from the field, while the Lions made 47.4 percent (27-of-57) of its shots. Keystone won the rebounding battle 46-30.
Bryn Athyn heads to Wilson for a CSAC showdown with the Phoenix on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 8 p.m.
