Trio of Louchie, Moore, and Lanzetta power Lions to win over Saint Elizabeth

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The trio of Tariq Moore, Haybert Louchie, and Dante Lanzetta combined to score 64 points to lead the Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team in a 75-67 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) victory over the College of Saint Elizabeth Saturday afternoon in Asplundh Field House.

Moore was the top player in Saturday's contest with 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting, a game-high 12 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Louchie ended the day shooting 9-of-15 to record a career- and game-high 23 points. Lanzetta was stellar in a reserve role as he came off-the-bench to shoot 5-of-7 from 3-point range to 20 minutes to record a career-high 19 points.

Thanks to their best shooting performance of the season, 56.3 (27-of-58), the Lions (4-18, 3-8 CSAC) were able to overcome 25 turnovers. On the opposite end of the court, Saint Elizabeth (11-10, 5-6 CSAC) shot just 35.9 percent (23-of-64) and committed 16 turnovers.

Trailing 5-2 in the early stages, Moore capped off a run of nine straight Bryn Athyn points with a put-back at the 15:14 mark to put the Lions ahead 11-5. Moore had four points the nine points and the Lions shot 4-of-7 during the four-minute span.

With the lead down to four (18-14), Louchie made a free throw with 9:11 left in the half to spark a 10-3 run, which included five Louchie points, that would give the Lions a game-high 11-point lead (28-17).

Bryn Athyn would go into the halftime break leading 32-25 after shooting 56.0 percent (14-of-25) and holding Saint Elizabeth to 22.6 percent (7-of-31).

The Lions never trailed in the second half but faced an Eagle threat as Saint Elizabeth chipped away at the gap to close within 64-63 with 3:16 remaining.

Bryn Athyn's defense allowed the Lions to go on a game-ending 11-4 win to pull away and secure the win. The Eagles shot 2-of-8 and turned the ball over twice down the stretch. Meanwhile, Bryn Athyn made two of its three shot attempts and 6-of-10 from the free throw line.

Shaquan Mickens paced the Eagles with 16 points, while Jason Saldiveri had 14 points, seven assists, and six rebounds.

Bryn Athyn returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Cairn University for an 8 p.m. tip.
