Men's Basketball holds on to beat Valley Forge

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. - The men's basketball team fought through adversity to defeat Valley Forge on Saturday 58-53.

Inside the Box Score
  • Will Little led the way with 14 points.
  • Keith Bullock got the start and did what he needed to, accumulating 11 points and 5 steals.
  • Jalen Jackson rounded out the evening with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
  • Montrell Horsey contributed 9 points.
How it Happened
  • It looked to be a blowout early, as Will Little seemed unguardable, and the Lions got up 10-4.
  • Unfortunately the fun ended very quickly as Bryn Athyn committed some costly turnovers, leading to a 10-0 Valley Forge run.
  • The middle of the half was evenly matched, but the end was dominated by a 7-0 Lions run that put them up four at halftime.
  • BAC took control early in the second with a 13-4 run that all but put UVF away.
  • Pioneers would no go away though, scoring 10 consecutive points to cut the lead back to four.
  • Similar to Thursday against Clarks Summit, the Lions had to make free throws to close the game out. They did so to win by five.
Coach's Corner
  • "I'm proud of our team securing the single season win record for our program under adverse circumstances. We need to continue to learn how to finish games and hunt great shots. Keith was dynamic on defense. Jalen Jackson was clutch with a 3 late. We're onto the next one." - Head Coach Sean Westerlund
Notes
  • Bryn Athyn remains in first place in the United East Skye Division at 7-1 in conference games.
Up Next
  • Men's Basketball returns to the Field House on Monday, January 15th at 4pm to host Notre Dame (MD).
